We start this tour at the ancient Huers hut in Newquay, discussing the fascinating Pilchard fishing history before we take the coast road from Newquay to Padstow. Our first stop is just a little inland at the picturesque, monastic village of St Mawgan, before we get back to the coast stopping for the spectacular views of the coastline and beaches on route. Next stop is the Bedruthan Steps beauty spot to marvel at the 'Giants Steps' and the amazing views over Park and Trevose Headlands. We then drop you in Padstow, a beautiful fishing town made famous for its 'Obby Oss' May Day celebrations and Rick Stein, where you can take in the shops and sites and maybe sample some local cuisine.
We then head further up the coast to Port Quin where you can wander around the cove and maybe taste one of 'Fiona's' famous crab sandwiches, then on to Port Isaac and 'Doc Martin' country. See where Martin Clunes makes the Hit ITV series and absorb the atmosphere of this ancient fishing village. A great spot to grab a pasty for lunch and sit and watch the Fishermen bringing in their catch.
After Port Isaac we follow the coast road through Port Gaverne and Treknow, then on to Tintagel. Here we park up at the spectacular church on top of the cliffs, before we take a short walk with stunning views over Tintagel Island famed as the legendary birthplace of King Arthur. You'll have the option to visit the island and walk the main street before we
move onto the historic harbour of Boscastle. Made famous in 2004 for it's dramatic floods, things are now back to normal and you can take a stroll around this ancient harbour with its spectacular steep cliffs and relax over an aftrnoon cream tea in one of its quaint cafes.
After Boscastle we start heading back to your accommodation, but on route we take you through the old market town of Camelford and take a little detour to see the dramatic foothills of Bodmin Moor where you can take a short walk on the edge of Rough Tor. We will then take the main roads back to your accommodation.
